Triple Detective #1  - Three stories in ONE magazine!
Phantom Detective - Norman Daniels’ “The Happiest Hour Murders” with restored text.
The Black Bat - Stewart Sterling’s “The Lady of Death” with restored text.
The Secret Agent “X” in “The Stolen Formula” -  first American publication in English.

One of the most popular titles of its day, TRIPLE DETECTIVE early on carried some terrific stories. The magazine was so popular that it lasted long after most titles had folded, continuing until the Fall 1955 issue. Some interesting stories ended up in the later issues after the other titles ceased, and it’s likely that a number of lost hero pulp stories ended up here as well. Unfortunately, many of the later issues contained reprints of earlier published stories.

With the release of the new series, three important stories are included in the first issue for the pulp fan. Norman Daniels’ “The Happiest Hour Murders” was written as a Phantom Detective entry in 1934, but rejected, and published later with all reference to the Phantom deleted removed from the story. When the Black Bat folded in 1953, Stewart Sterling’s “The Lady of Death” was left unpublished, and appeared later, with all traces of the Black Bat removed. These two stories have been restored to their original characters and published here for the first time. The Secret Agent “X” story, “The Stolen Formula” was originally written and published in Greece in 1950, and this is its first American publication in English.

TRIPLE DETECTIVE is being published in the pulp format of old, and for the pulp collector, and fan of the character pulps, this will quickly become a collector’s item in itself. Basically, these are three “lost” stories from the heyday of the character pulps.

Fading Shadows

DOUBLE DANGER TALES #64
Featuring two pulp crime mysteries by Tom Johnson in a 4 x 7 paperback:
Murder Town and The Legend.

Compere had not been able to get Peggy away from the door leading to the stairwell, and he knew that danger lay in that direction. He increased his deadly fire, but had become a non-moving target himself. A bullet from one of the gangster’s guns clipped the little gas container on his belt, and suddenly two skull-faced apparitions appeared, one on each wrist of his hands. With a slight movement of his wrists, the gas-filled balloons were disconnected and flew from his outstretched arms with a loud hiss, each flying in opposite directions.

The appearance of the banshees was so sudden, gangsters turned their fire on the two escaping gas balloons, and Compere accounted for another four hoodlums as their guns had been diverted from him.

Unfortunately, his luck was running out. He heard a light sound from behind, a short sigh from Peggy, and then he felt the cold hard steel of the barrel of a revolver digging into his spine. A vicious voice grunted from behind, "Drop your cannons, friend, or this girl gets a bullet in the head!"

The series is being published in a limited run.
For the initial run, book and postage is $10.00.
